Lots but very variable standard
Great value for money, but the standard is very variable. The food is not always hot and I have seen the chef pour a freshly cooked batch of food on top of the remains of the previous batch.
However, all in all, a good place to eat cheaply and in a nice setting.

Chindian!
What could be better than a mixture of chinese, indian, nepalese, malaysian, thai and singapore food. You can have all you can eat buffet for lunch £6.95 or dinner £11.95. The takeaway is yummy and you can stuff your plastic container full of different foods and then stuff your face at home. The ultimate munch food experience

Never sure what you're going to get!
Most times I go to the Gurkha and the food is fresh, amazing and tasty but once in a while I go there and it is disappointing for one reason or another (food too salty etc). I think it must depend on which chef is working that day or something! The same dish can taste totally different depending on when you visit! So that's why I've given it 4 stars and not 5. Great price for all you can eat and they offer take-aways which is excellent value too as you can put whatever you like in your tub and with such a wide variety of dishes it is far far cheaper than buying each dish individually from the chinese. I love the atmosphere and decor in here and the staff are always pleasant too.

All you can eat!!
The Gurkha is great for couples, familys and large groups. They have lots of seating and a spacious atmosphere. I call this the ''Chin-dian'' as they do a mix of chinese noodles, rice, soups, special currys and prawn crackers as well as Indian curries - mild and hot, potato dishes and naan bread. You dont know what is on the menu until you get there as it changes daily. The only place in Ilfracombe currently offering all you can eat at a set price. The staff are very polite and helpful, the food is fresh and warm and there is no waiting. Just help yourself when you are ready. Open for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.
