Police are appealing for witnesses after a second assault in Ilfracombe last Friday
The incident took place at around 7.15pm on Friday, 6th August 2010 as the victim walked along Arcade Road.
The two suspects began arguing with each other when one of them suddenly punched the victim in the eye for an unknown reason.
The victim, from Hampshire, received facial injuries.
The first suspect is described as being of slim build, 18 or 19-years-old, around 6ft tall and with short dark hair. He was wearing a short-sleeved white shirt.
The second suspect is also of slim build, 18 or 19-years-old, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9 in tall, with short dark hair and a tanned complexion. He was wearing a blue or black polo shirt with white stripes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police on 08452 777444 quoting reference CI/10/886.
These attacks are particularly worrying at such a busy time of the year, when the town is so busy and bustling with tourists. Should there be a stronger visual police presence in Ilfracombe to reflect the increased number of people in the town? What do you think could be done to make our streets safer?

Pleased to hear that the youth responsible for pushing the holidaymaker over the railings at Wildersmouth has been jailed. Four years is not long enough in my opinion! http://tinyurl.com/6c6drcq

ReportThis is just terrible, our town relies on the trade we get from tourists in the summer, the last thing we want is for people to feel unsafe! I think there should be more Police out on the beat patrolling the streets in the busy summer moths.
