Am I the only one seething over the new parking meters? Or the waste of money that is the pavement extension outside Dedes? Or the stupidly placed 'new' parking spaces opposite the Osbourne? Or the pointless electronic bollard at the top of the Cove car park? I'm about ready to move!!! Ilfracombe is being turned into a joke and this really upsets me! We should be encouraging and improving...none of the above are doing this :(

I too agree that all of the above are ridiculous and have done nothing to improve our town-just made driving and parking around the town and seafront more frustrating for both locals and visitors alike! Why we have to have pay and display all year round when it is absolutely dead in the High Street and seafront apart from during the holidays, just to fund a 6 week park and ride scheme every year that we have survived countless summers before without I will never know! And none of the other local towns (except Combe Martin where everyone wanted it) have to have the meters now but our local councillor pushed it through early so that he could fund his pet project the park and ride! He pretty much said this himself in the Journal a few weeks ago! But this is not a new thing for Ilfracombe, stupid decisions are always being made for unknown reasons-the Landmark anyone????Downright ugly! Rant over!

The county councillor who is behind this can be thrown out at the next election. The parking meters can be made unprofitable by not putting any money in them. Always use the green button when you're passing one.
I notice there's a new Bus Stop outside John Fowler's. What a coincidence!
