I saw on the Barnstaple people website that students are going to be demonstrating against the rise in tuition fees outside Nick Harvey's offices today. Are any Ilfracombe students going over to protest?

I'm all for peaceful protests but I think the recent demonstrations have descended into riots which have done more harm than good.

Peaceful protests just dont seem to send a strong enough message these days.
Everything to do with this new government stunk from the start, however we hung our heads low and just moaned about the verdicts that had been made instead of making a stand, at least the government were honest and told us times would be hard and let us no we were in for a shock. What we didnt expect to happen, was for them to out right lie. Promises were made about tuition fees and Camron and Clegg broke them. If they had just been truthful from the start, then the riots in London would not have happened, we wouldnt have liked it and we would have all moaned but riots, Im sure would have been off the cards. I blame all that happened in London a few days ago on the government and their lies.
What I dont understand is why they have raised tuition fees, do they not realise that this will mean less students, which will mean less people for the high paid jobs in our country ie doctors ect. Which then also means more foreigners coming into our country and taking our best paid jobs. So this all says to me, that this will do no ones futures any good.
Shame on Camron, as he went to uni for free............................
So I understand that riots are not the way to go about things and its not nice to watch but when you see your future and your childrens future just being washed away, what does this government expect to happen. Especially when they lied and made empty promises to begin with.
It is our life's that they hold in their hand.
If the government can afford to bail out 7billion pound to Ireland then why do they have to raise tuition fees anyway?????????
