I expect the new plans recommend pedestrianisation of the Harbour area, that seems to be what they are aiming for in the long-term. I hope they are looking in to plans to finally get the Ilfracombe-Swansea ferry up and running!!

I'm not holding my breath for the ferry - they haven't got any boats right now and they are expensive.
The harbour has to be pedestrian priority, but the arguments over parking are going to epic.

The ferry will never happen. And thank God for that. Can you imagine all those loud drunks coming over from Wales? It's bad enough now during the season when they come over in coaches and get smashed out of their heads in horrible pubs like the Waverley, and then spend the whole evening shouting and bawling in the street. Hopefully, the new Wetherspoons will lead to the closure of some of our less savoury pubs and the improvement of those in the harbour area. Sometimes I wonder how people from Wales find their way around the town given that there are no signs in Welsh. If they hate the English so much, why holiday here? I can answer that: Everybody in the world outside the UK hates England and the English, as well as their culture and traditions. Isn't it funny, though, that England appears to be the first place everyone wants to run to when things get tough in their own countries? I wonder why.

"everybody in the world outside the UK hates England & the English"is slightly incorrect as a large percentage of the UK also disike us(eg Wales,Scotland,N.Ireland).
I knew this Welsh guy many years ago, nice guy, mild mannered, responsible, understanding etc etc but one day he said to me "you know, you English, your all so damn arrogant,i could say more but i wont".
Hate is a strong work,i think dislike is closer to the truth, but as the song goes "no one likes us,we dont care"

That is a classic bit of thread hijacking!
At this point I can't quite shake the mental image of beetroot faced ROOMATTHETOP who finds themselves face to face with a Welsh, dog owning, civil enforcement officer. Diazipan just wouldn't be strong enough.
