Don’t Stop Me Now! Activity Card Scheme
Up to £300 for your child to use on out of school activities.
This exciting opportunity is being offered to North Devon children aged between 5 – 18 years who are eligible for free school meals and for children in care. (If you think your child qualifies and you don’t have any details speak to your school or college who will be able to help you.)
Each child has a fund of up to £300 to spend on a whole range of out of school activities between 1 April 2010 to 31 August 2011. Once your child has the card it is not taken back, even if your personal circumstances change and you no longer qualify.
Activities are booked directly with providers. Associated providers will accept the Activity Card as ‘payment’. Children show the card when they are asked to pay and the organisers will make a note of the unique card number. The cost of the activity will be deducted from the £300 fund until the fund has been used up.
The card can be used to ‘pay’ towards a school residential trip. If the trip is partly in normal school time the card will give you up to a 50% discount. And the card can also be used to join after school activities that you normally have to pay for.
The card can be used to pay for tansport to/from activities if necessary.
The card can be used to pay for essential kit such as ballet shoes/football boots if necessary.
A good idea or another reason for single parents not to go back to work!?
