Hi combecath I couldn't agree with you more, my garage is full of cardboard boxes filled with carboot items that are just gathering dust and could be making me money! Car boots are a great way for hosting charities and organisations to raise funds too, and there should be more of them in the winter when everyone is skint after xmas and looking to pick up a bargain or to make some money on their unwanted pressies!

Thats a great idea combecath with ebay you have to faff around with postage and packaging, waiting for days to see how much it is is a bit stupid but no effence to ebay though, Plus also they're a good place to pick up a bargin when hunting for something you cant find anywhere else.
i agree you can buy what you really want cheep on ebay like i bought a play station 2 with 13 games with it for 30 pounds! but the other day mum was hoovering my room and knocked it off the table so it is a bit broke down and poorly.(so much for a great bargain!) i also heard you wanted to know what brookdale church does?
Yeh it does the usual ceramonys and services but it does its own holiday fun days and carboots sometimes aswell my friend lauren goes to all the holiday fun days with my sisters friend as their mum works during the holidays.
To be honest they could really do with putting on more car boots (inside and out!) i love spending money in carboots but i am rubbish at saving up!
I think ebay is great if you're after something specific as you just type it in and hey presto there it is. Car boots are best for general bargains and having a browse. Not sure we've got many viable indoor venues in combe though? Maybe the Landmark?

ebay is not always the best option, I have recently sold a £9.99 item for only 99p, then I had the hassle of P&P and getting to the Post Office in the puring rain!!!!
At this time of year, people are feeling the pinch after Christmas, there are now unwanted items, and plenty of toys that have been replaced with new. Rather than these items take up landfill, I believe car booting is a way forward. Your unwanted items become someone else's treasures, and the toys you may sell, gives another child joy.
It is also good for the community of Ilfracombe as a whole, as the money raised from entrance to both sellers and buyers would be generated for the local venue. Therefore, keeping local money local.
Would Ilfracombe People help promote this idea into a reality??
