Pride in Ilfracombe Awards

Do you know of somebody in Ilfracombe who deserves a special thank you for the work they do in our community?

Are there any unsung heroes or heroines worthy of recognition for an act of kindness, generosity or courage, or for consistently putting others ahead of themselves in our town? What about someone that has made a valuable contribution to his or her school or family, or a business that encourages community development or a shop owner that has improved the image of Ilfracombe?

Ilfracombe Town Council knows they are out there and they want to acknowledge them!

The Pride in Ilfracombe scheme has been in operation for over 2 years and many individuals have been given an award for their special contributions to community life. Categories have recently been expanded to enable businesses to be nominated; either those who encourage community development or shops that have improved the image of the town.

Anyone can make a nomination, and all entries will be considered by a panel made up of representatives from local organisations. On an annual basis, all nominations put forward throughout the year will be considered for the winner of the Citizen of the Year award, an honour that recognises a very special person and their exemplary contribution to our town.

If you're fed up of people focusing on the negatives in our town and want to highlight the good deeds done by so many local people then let everyone know by nominating one of our hard-working citizens in Ilfracombe.
