Ilfracombe/Ifs Twinning Association 20th Anniversary

The Ilfracombe/Ifs Twinning Association are currently celebrating their 20th Anniversary and are looking for new members to join their ranks.

The French town Ifs is a suburb of Caen in Normandy that was twinned with Ilfracombe back in 1991. Every year in May either the English go and visit our twin town in France, or the French come to visit us here in Ilfracombe! This year, the Ilfracombe group travelled to France in April and visited the Gardens of Monet at Giverny. Next year from May 5th-7th 2012 the association will be entertaining our visitors from Ifs in Ilfracombe. If any past members of the Twinning Association would like to join in the programme of celebrations they are very welcome, as are any newcomers who would like to get involved.

As well as the biennial trips to France, the Twinning Association enjoy a fun programme of social events throughout the year. In January 2012 they are holding a curry and quiz night and their annual lunch at Ilfracombe Golf Club will take place in March.
