Ilfracombe Seafront and Harbour is saturated with popular places to eat this Christmas. Parties of 6 or more can sample a sumptuous festive feast at Chimes Restaurant, 6 St James Bistro, The Royal Britannia, La Gendarmerie, Seventy-One or Take Thyme on a bookings only basis so make sure you book your party as soon as possible!

Pleasantly situated on St James Place both Chimes Restaurant and 6 St James Bistro are offering a top quality 3 course menu for £19.95 a head this festive season. Expect to see plenty of fresh local produce on the menu, in dishes such as goats cheese tart, duck leg confit and mulled wine poached pears. Chimes can accommodate a maximum of 22 diners and for parties of 15 or more 6 St James will give you exclusive use of the Bistro. Both venues have outdoor seating areas ideal for the smokers in your party.

At the end of the road at the Royal Britannia, diners can enjoy a hearty 3 course meal including tea and coffee for £19.50. Offering a large traditional menu with plenty of choice for starters, mains and desserts there is bound to be something to tickle the tastebuds of everyone at your table. The Brit is in a prime position on Ilfracombe Harbour overlooking the Harbour beach with an outdoor seating area for smokers, and a bar area to keep the party going at the end of the meal.

Round the corner on Fore Street Take Thyme are offering a traditional 3 course Christmas Menu at a great price of just £17 a head from the 2nd of December. Choose this spacious restaurant at the bottom of Fore Street and you are perfectly placed for a pub crawl up the hill when your party have eaten their fill.

Seventy One's Christmas party menu is traditional with a twist, containing dishes such as "3 Little Pigs" which consists of pork tenderloin, black pudding and pork belly! For a party at this cosy restaurant with a continental feel it costs £15 per person on weekdays and £18 a head on Saturdays.

La Gendarmerie is always a popular place for fine diners, and has been awarded the maximum of 5 stars by every reviewer on Ilfracombe People. Receiving comments like "it never disappoints" and "perhaps one of the finest restaurants in Ilfracombe", hold your Christmas party here if you are out to impress. Their 4 course Christmas Taste menu costs £27 per head and includes a complimentary glass of mulled wine.

Away from the seafront, other venues worth a mention include Gazpacho (3 courses £24.95 p.p), Helebillys (£19.50 p.p to  include crackers, party poppers and use of the dance floor) and Cravings at the top of Fore Street which is now a gastro pub and offers 2 venues in one for your Christmas party, with the restaurant upstairs for dining and the chill bar downstairs for dancing.
