Break-in at ilfracombe stables

Police in the North Devon area are appealing for information following two break-ins to stables in the area.

Overnight on May 14/15 at Heanton Lea in Chivenor a stable was burgled with nearly £4,000 of equestrian equipment stolen.Taken in the raid at Shelley's Riding School were six saddles, 15 bridles, 20 horse collars, 15 riding hats, horse brushes, body protectors and boots as well as a Honda generator.

In Ilfracombe between 13th and 14th May, a shed at West Down was hit with £1850 in items taken. A £500 leather saddle, bridle and riding hat were stolen. A £300 petrol generator and an £800 petrol strimmer were also snatched.

Members of the public are asked to contact police if they have been offered any such items or if they notice any suspicious behaviour in the evenings around outbuildings.
