Celebrate the May Bank Holiday weekend in Ilfracombe
The May bank holiday falls on the 4-7 May this year and the annual Landmark Beer and Music festival is offering entertainment in the form of free live music at the Landmark Theatre on the seafront for the duration of the weekend. Sup on a selection of sumptuous real ales and enjoy performances from local bands and singers as well as performers from further afield. For a full line-up of acts appearing over the weekend check out the event listing on ilfracombepeople.
Get the family together for a fun day out on Ilfracombe Pier for North Devon's Premier Sea Fishing Competition in aid of the Children's Hospice South West on Saturday 5th May. As well as adult and junior fishing contests a host of family friendly activities will be taking place throughout the day including a crabbing competition.
It's Monday madness at Ilfracombe Museum with free entry all day on Monday 7th May. Spend your extra day off enjoying Ilfracombe's Jack-in-the-Green May Day celebrations with an emerald parade of green revellers through the town from 11am, followed by dancing round the Maypole at the clapping circle next to Wildersmouth beach from 12noon. Then take advantage of the free entry and visit the Museum which has special exhibits on the Titanic and the Olympic Torch available to view for a limited period only.
After you've marvelled at the curios in the Museum take a stroll down the seafront and use the pennies you've saved on Museum entrance to buy yourself a bargain at the tabletop sale at Pip 'n' Jims Church Hall in aid of the RNLI.
